From the very beginning, Terror Camp has worked on the principle of radical accessibility. While academic conferences and fan conventions can have high costs that create a barrier to entry, anyone with an internet connection can attend Terror Camp events. 

As interest in Terror Camp has grown, so has its costs. Historically, Terror Camp expenses were assumed by the moderation team. Following Terror Camp III in December 2023, where we experienced a record 1000+ registrants, attendees were invited to financially contribute to support the financial future of this project. These generous contributions have secured continuity of access to online Terror Camp materials, and ensure we can stay connected as a community. Beginning for Terror Camp 2024, attendees will have the option of donating at the time of registration, via a Pay-What-You-Can ticketing system. However, financial contribution is not required.

Terror Camp is and will always be free to attend.

Terror Camp is a community project, and not a licensed non-profit organization. Members of Terror Camp Command, the moderation team that organizes each year’s conference, are volunteers and do not receive financial compensation. To promote a culture of transparency and collaboration, please see below our past and ongoing costs.
